How to Repost on TikTok

By the Crowbert teamUpdated June 2026

Quick answer

Tap the Share arrow on the video, then tap the yellow Repost button. The video is shared into your followers' For You feeds with a note that you reposted it. It does not create a duplicate video on your profile grid.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the video you want to repost

Reposting works from the For You feed, Following feed, or a profile.

  2. 2

    Tap the Share arrow

It is the arrow icon on the right side of the screen.

  3. 3

    Tap Repost

The yellow Repost button sits in the top row of the share sheet.

  4. 4

    Add an optional comment

TikTok may prompt you to say why you are reposting. The note appears alongside the repost in feeds.

Worth knowing

  • Reposts surface to your followers in their For You feeds, not on your main profile grid.
  • You can only repost public videos.

Doing this for a brand, not just an account?

Reposting relevant creator content between your own posts keeps a brand feed active on days when nothing new is scheduled.

Common questions

Where do reposts show up on TikTok?

They appear in your followers' For You feeds with a label that you reposted the video. On your own profile they collect under the repost tab, not in your main video grid.

Does the original creator know I reposted their video?

Yes, the creator gets a notification when you repost. Your followers also see your name attached to the repost in their feed.

Is reposting the same as saving or downloading a video?

No. A repost distributes the original video to your followers while all views and engagement stay with the creator. Saving just bookmarks it privately for you.
