How to Unrepost on TikTok

By the Crowbert teamUpdated June 2026

Quick answer

Open the video you reposted, tap the Share arrow, and tap Remove repost. The repost disappears from your followers' feeds immediately. If you cannot find the video, check the repost tab on your profile to locate everything you have reposted.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Find the video you reposted

Open the repost tab on your profile, or find the video through your watch history or the original creator's page.

  2. 2

Tap the Share arrow on that video

The same arrow you used to repost it.

  3. 3

    Tap Remove repost

The button appears where Repost was. Tapping it removes the repost right away.

Worth knowing

  • Removing a repost does not notify the creator or your followers.
  • Engagement your followers already gave the video stays with the original creator.

Doing this for a brand, not just an account?

Auditing what your account has amplified is routine hygiene for anyone managing a brand presence, and reposts are easy to forget about.

Common questions

How do I see everything I have reposted on TikTok?

Open your profile and look for the repost tab, marked with the two-arrows icon next to your video and liked tabs. Every active repost is listed there.

Does removing a repost delete the original video?

No. Unreposting only removes your share of it from your followers' feeds. The original video and all its stats are untouched.

Will people know I removed a repost?

No notification goes out when you remove one. Followers who already saw the repost in their feed simply stop seeing it going forward.
