What the table does not tell you
- Facebook asks for under 100 kilobytes, which is unusually strict and the reason so many covers look soft. Flat colour and large type survive that budget. Photographs with fine detail do not.
- The desktop crop is 16:9 and the phone crop is 2.4:1, both left aligned. Anything on the right edge is the first thing a phone loses, so put your message left of centre.
- The circular profile picture overlaps the cover's lower left. Leave that corner empty rather than discovering the overlap after publishing.
- Upload sRGB specifically. A file exported in Adobe RGB or P3 will shift noticeably once Facebook converts it, and brand colours are where that shows first.
