How to Add an Admin to a Facebook Page

By the Crowbert teamUpdated June 2026

Quick answer

To add an admin, switch into your Page, open Settings, then Page access. Under People with Facebook access, tap Add new, search the person's name, and toggle full control if you want them to manage everything including access for others. They must accept the invite before access takes effect.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Switch into your Page

Tap your profile picture and select the Page so you are acting as it.

  2. 2

    Open Settings, then Page access

In the new Pages experience this section lists everyone who can manage the Page.

  3. 3

Tap Add new under People with Facebook access

Search for the person by name. You may need to be Facebook friends or use their exact profile name.

  4. 4

    Choose their level of control

Enable full control to make them an admin equivalent who can manage settings and other people's access.

  5. 5

    Confirm with your password

Facebook asks you to re-enter your password before sending the invite.

  6. 6

    Have them accept the invite

They get a notification and must accept it. Access is not active until they do.

Worth knowing

  • The new Pages experience no longer uses the word admin; full Facebook access is the equivalent role.
  • Anyone with full control can remove you, so only grant it to people you trust.

Doing this for a brand, not just an account?

Clean access management is basic account hygiene for teams; agencies that map who can post where avoid the single-admin lockout that stalls a whole content calendar.

Common questions

What is the difference between Facebook access and task access?

Facebook access lets someone manage the Page directly on Facebook, including settings if they have full control. Task access limits them to specific jobs like content, ads, or insights through tools such as Meta Business Suite.

Why can't I find the person when I search?

Their privacy settings may block search, or you typed a nickname instead of their profile name. Ask them to visit the Page first or send you their profile link, then try again.

Can a Page have more than one admin?

Yes, there is no practical limit. Give full control to at least two people so the Page is never locked if one account is lost or disabled.
